"Banners with metal strips" are posters made of paper, foil, or cloth with a metal/aluminium trim for optimal stability. This popular advertising product is also referred to as roll-up posters, banners, kakemonos or tubular bar posters. Their advantage is that they can be shipped rolled up and thus are space-saving and inexpensive.
The grain direction in the production of paper(board) refers to the alignment of fibers within the paper(board) sheet. During the papermaking process, fibers tend to align in one primary direction. There are two main grain directions:
  • Long Grain: When the majority of the fibers run parallel to the longer side of the paper sheet (length)
  • Short Grain: When the majority of the fibers run parallel to the shorter side of the paper sheet (width)
The grain direction is an important factor to consider as it affects the strength, folding properties, and overall performance in printing, converting, and binding processes of paper-fibre based materials.
The grain direction is indicated by underlining the format dimension that is not parallel to the direction of fibers. For example, in 700 x 1,000 mm, the width (700 mm) is perpendicular to the fibers, while the length (1000 mm) is parallel to the fibers.
A "banner" is a printed poster that is often equipped with metal/aluminium strips at the upper and lower edge and a string for hanging from ceilings/walls.
A "battening" refers to the fitting of posters, billboards and banners with tubular metal strips. The strips give the poster a heavier frame which  weighs it down so that it hangs smoothly and cleanly. Banners can be fitted with various hanging solutions on request.
A "block poster" is a three-dimensional poster consisting of a stable corrugated cardboard insert and a cover made of folding boxboard. The double creasing of the edges creates a high-quality poster that does not need a separate frame (as opposed to a canvas). Block posters with a thinner insert are also called standing edge posters.
In a "sheet lamination" process, at least two sheet of materials such as printed sheets, papers, cardboard, corrugated cardboard and special materials are laminated together.
Computer-Aided-Design (CAD) "cutting plotters" are digital cutting machines that enable complicated cuts and shapes to be produced. This is especially helpful for the development of white patterns or the production of short runs, as cutting plotters only require CAD data and not an expensive die-cutting tool. Our digital cutting systems enable among other things, 3D constructions for display and advertising material design from the most diverse materials, predominantly in the cardboard, paper and corrugated board sector.
