Frequently asked questions about woodpulp board & grey board

Common paperboard grades include solid board, greyboard, wood pulp board, wood-containing board, bookbinding board and beer mat board. Each grade differs in terms of construction, surface properties, rigidity and intended application.
Greyboard is known for its high rigidity and excellent converting properties. It is widely used for packaging, displays, book covers, folders, toys and premium graphic applications. For laminating applications, greyboard is particularly suitable as a mounting board. Its smooth surface and excellent dimensional stability ensure reliable bonding of prints, films and other materials.
Solid board (also referred to as paperboard) are (multilayered) composite materials with a high bulk and closed edges all around, whereas corrugated cardboard has open edges leaving the inner corrugated structure visible. Advantages of solid board compared to corrugated board include a clean, smooth edge and high stability with comparatively low thickness. Paperboard also has a smoother surface than corrugated board and is accordingly more suitable for high-quality printing.
Yes. All of our paperboards are made from paper fibres and are 100% recyclable. They are sourced from responsibly managed forests and are available with FSC® or PEFC certification. This makes them a sustainable fibre-based alternative to plastic materials in a wide range of applications.
