KAPA® mount (Lightweight foam boards)
Lightweight foam board with aluminium-reinforced surfaces for large format lamination!
Composition:
The sandwich panel with white surfaces of chromo substitute cardboard and an insert of light grey (PUR) polyurethane rigid foam is reinforced on both sides with a thin aluminium foil. Fire protection class: B2 according to DIN 4102-1.
Applications:
Due to the aluminium-reinforced surface layers, KAPA® mount is particularly suitable as a lightweight lamination board (mechanical cold lamination). Large-format digital prints and photos only need to be laminated on one side, the reinforced top layer prevents warping of the boards. The lightweight foam panels are also used for shop window advertising (even with high exposure to the sun e.g. south facing), as fill-in panels in trade fair construction and for display systems, as well as carrier panels for high-quality signage.
Further processing:
KAPA® mount lightweight boards can be ideally processed further: Simple cutting (by cutter/knife or digital cutting plotter) allows creative free forms and is easily possible despite the aluminium-reinforced top layer. The white, cardboard laminated surfaces can also be printed, but KAPA mount is mainly used as a lamination board. The ideal lightweight foam boards for direct digital printing and screen printing are KAPA® plast and KAPA® plast White Core.

As a leading 3A distributor we offer the entire KAPA® mount range in all thicknesses and sizes.
Individual (special) formats such as 1400 x 1500 or 1400 x 2000 mm and freeforms can be cut according to your specifications: cutting service.
Further features:
- Cover layers can be processed with commercially available adhesives and colors.
- The foam core is resistant to almost all solvents and adhesives. For adhesives containing toluene, please carry out tests beforehand.
- Service temperature continuous Td = -20 to 100°C; short-term Tk = up to 130°C
- Fire protection class: B2 according to DIN 4102-1 (normally flammable materials)
- pH value: 8.4 (acid-free)
- Meets the following standards: DIN ISO 9001:2008, DIN ISO 14001:2004 and BS OHSAS 18001:2007
